Privacy Policy - Manifestation & Focus App

This Privacy Policy explains how Subconscious Unlock ("we," "our," or "us") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our Android application. By using Subconscious Unlock, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

⚡ Zero Data Collection Guarantee: Subconscious Unlock does NOT collect, store, or transmit any personal data, screen content, app usage data, device identifiers, location data, or any other personal information. Everything stays on your device.

1. Information We Do NOT Collect

Subconscious Unlock is designed with privacy as a core principle. We explicitly do NOT collect, access, store, or transmit:

Screen content or text from your device
Data from other apps on your device
App usage statistics or browsing history
Location data (GPS, network-based, or otherwise)
Personal identifiers (name, email, phone number, address)
Device identifiers (IMEI, Android ID, advertising ID)
Contacts, call logs, SMS messages, or phonebook data
Photos, files, or media from your device
Microphone or camera data

2. Local Data Storage (On-Device Only)

The following information is stored locally on your device only using Android DataStore and never leaves your device:

Your selected affirmation topics (Fitness, Wealth, Career, Relationship, Confidence)
Your daily streak count and last completion date
Your Manifest Mode preference (enabled/disabled)
Your subscription status (managed by Google Play Billing)

This data is never uploaded to any server, shared with third parties, or accessible to the developer.

3. Accessibility Service Use

Subconscious Unlock uses Android's AccessibilityService API to support users in building positive habits by temporarily blocking access to distracting apps (Instagram, TikTok, Facebook) until a daily mindfulness practice is completed.

How it works:

When Manifest Mode is enabled, the app monitors when you open a blocked app
A brief 17-second breathing overlay appears, encouraging mindfulness
The overlay automatically closes after 17 seconds
No screen content is read, recorded, or transmitted

This feature is optional and can be toggled on/off in Settings. The AccessibilityService only activates when Manifest Mode is enabled by the user.

What the Accessibility Service does:

Detects window state changes when blocked apps are launched
Displays a mindfulness reminder overlay for 17 seconds

What the Accessibility Service does NOT do:

Read or record screen content
Access text, images, or data from any app
Monitor your activity or browsing
Collect or transmit any information
Perform actions on your behalf

The Accessibility Service operates entirely on-device and does not communicate with any external servers.

3.1 App Usage Information

Subconscious Unlock monitors which apps you open to detect distracting apps (Instagram, TikTok, Facebook) and show a mindfulness pause reminder.

Data accessed: List of currently running apps
Purpose: Detect blocked app launches
Storage: Never stored or transmitted
Sharing: Not shared with anyone

All monitoring happens on-device only. This information is processed in real-time memory and is never written to storage, sent to servers, or shared with third parties.

4. Third-Party Services

Google Play Billing: Subscription payments are processed by Google Play. We do not have access to your payment information, credit card details, or billing address. Google Play's privacy policy governs this data.

No Analytics or Advertising: We do not use any third-party analytics SDKs (Firebase, Crashlytics, etc.), advertising networks, or tracking services. The app contains zero third-party code that collects data.

5. How We Use Data

Since we do not collect any data, there is no usage of personal information. The locally stored preferences are used solely to:

Display your chosen affirmations
Track your visualization streak (on-device only)
Remember your Manifest Mode setting

We do not sell, share, rent, or monetize any user data under any circumstances.

6. Data Retention and Deletion

Since no data is stored on external servers or transmitted to the developer, there are no remote accounts or profiles to delete.

To delete all app data: Simply uninstall Subconscious Unlock from your device. All locally stored preferences, streak data, and settings will be permanently erased.

7. Children's Privacy

Subconscious Unlock is suitable for users aged 13 and above. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Since the app does not collect any data at all, there is no risk of inadvertent data collection from minors.

8. Data Security

All app data is stored locally on your device using Android's encrypted DataStore. This data is protected by:

Your device's lock screen security (PIN, pattern, fingerprint)
Android's app sandboxing (data isolation per app)
Device-level encryption (if enabled on your device)

Since no data is transmitted over the internet, there is no risk of interception, server breaches, or unauthorized access by third parties.

9. International Users & GDPR Compliance

Subconscious Unlock complies with global privacy regulations including GDPR (EU), CCPA (California), and India's data protection laws. Since we do not collect, process, or store any personal data, there is no transfer of data across borders and no data subject rights to exercise (as no data exists to access, rectify, or delete).

10. Permissions Requested

Subconscious Unlock requests the following Android permissions:

Accessibility Service: To detect blocked apps and show visualization reminders (only when Manifest Mode is enabled)
Foreground Service: To keep Manifest Mode active in the background with a visible notification
Internet (via Google Play Billing): Only to validate subscription status with Google Play servers — no other network activity occurs

These permissions are used exclusively for the stated purposes and are not used to collect or transmit any personal data.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect app improvements or legal requirements. Changes will be posted with a new "Effective Date" at the top. Continued use of the app after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
